Constipation is a common problem. It refers to a change in bowel habit. It is usually caused by reduced movement of the colon. At times underlying diseases may cause constipation.

Treatment
- Most of patients with constipation will improve by increasing water, vegetable and fruit
- Doctors may prescribe fiber, Laxatives and other medications.
- Patient with worrisome symptoms will need to undergo colonoscopy examination.
- Any underlying diseases may require appropriate treatment.
